How Much Do You Know about Dewaxing Casting?

What is Dewaxing Casting

Dewaxing casting is a cost-effective precision casting production method. It is suitable for castings of carbon steel, chromium-molybdenum steel, tool steel, wear-resistant and heat-resistant steel, stainless steel, superalloys such as Monel, Hastelloy, nickel-cobalt alloy steel, high-chromium cast iron, aluminum alloy, copper alloy, titanium alloy, etc., with dimensions less than 200×200×300mm and weights less than 10KG.

Dewaxing Casting Operation Procedure

Before dewaxing, perform a pressure test on the dewaxing autoclave and preheat it 1-2 times.

Take off the modules that have met the drying standards, remove the hooks and cover plates, and clean off any excess shell material around the pouring cup edge.

Quickly place the module upside down on the dewaxing steam autoclave loading car, send it into the dewaxing steam autoclave, and immediately close the door; open the steam valve to quickly reach a pressure of 0.6Mpa; maintain this for about 2-3 minutes, then set the dewaxing time according to the size of the casting and the thickness of the shell.

After the set time is reached, close the steam valve, release the steam pressure slowly for about 1 minute or more.

When the pressure gauge indicates pressure is "zero", clean out the recovered wax, open the autoclave door, and pull out the shell with the loading car.

Inspect the dewaxing quality and shell quality, place the qualified shells neatly according to the same drawing number, and wait for baking.

Shell Repair: If there are only small cracks on the surface, coat and dip paint the area to repair it.

Filter the discharged recovered wax liquid and pour it into a settling tank at 70-90°C, keep it warm and let it settle.

After work, clean the used equipment and site, and shut down the boiler.

Advantages of Dewaxing Casting
